Offering Advanced Computer Services to the Internet Community

HTML Programming and Web Page Design

INTRODUCTION

mikron Computer Consultants, a provider of computer hardware, software, systems, networking, etc. to the Internet community, is now available as your local INTERNET source. We believe that institutional-type pages profiling your company and services will be more successful in letting people know what you have available than catalog type pages. The key to a WWW presence is being able to direct interested people to your pages and then to give them information that they can use. You want to invite them to contact you by being open and available.

Using the Cape Cod Connection as our example, what mikron has done is create an area for exploration. Text-based municipal and community information is posted free for the various Cape towns and Chambers of Commerce. Commercial advertising is then placed on resource pages for the various Cape areas. The Connection is an example of the editorial direction mikron wants to take.

Your approach to Internet advertising should also address the question: "How will anyone know I'm there?" Registering with the major WWW directories provides pointers to your site. As an example, for our Cape Cod Connection clients, mikron has used professional registration servicesto register the site with over 400 search engines and directories all over the Internet. Keywords relevant to our WWW area were included in the registration process.

As new clients are added, ANY search criteria you want will be added to the applicable directories.

We have tried to position our prices to be on a par with prices for print advertising. The major difference is that your page creation is a one time charge for a continuous presence requiring only a very low monthly maintenance.

Do you have a WEB Profile?

How big is your business now?
What are your five year goals?
What do you currently spend on shipping, faxes, brochures, advertising?
Where is your market? Could you do business outside your immediate area? Would your business benefit from reaching clients in a very large area?
How do the buyers and clients you do get hear about your firm?

Using the Internet

Marketing on the Internet is like trying to do a commercial for Superbowl Sunday! You know lots of people will be looking but you have no way of predicting who they are or where they are. You just know that they will be out there.
The key to marketing to this huge, yet anonymous group, is to rely on the fact that the health of your business rests with doing only what is best for you. Start easy, and as your business grows, your Internet presence grows with it.
The overall idea is to use STYLE and EXPERTISE to make your company look as good as a Fortune 500 company.
CASE STORY: A small architectural firm had developed a unique design for a single family homes. They had a comfortable business within a 50 mile radius of their office, with only a few jobs at a distance. Advertising in outlying areas was too expensive. So they advertised their firm on the Internet. Some stylish prose, graphic images of completed homes, company history, prices, etc. Within two months they were fully booked with jobs for two years. Jobs all over the country, areas they could have NEVER reached conventionally.
